No7 Matchmade Lips Review

It’s been a while since I’ve done a beauty post as crafting has been taking up all my money lately but I had to indulge in the latest release from No7: matchmade lips!

For a lot of us (me included) picking a lipstick is impossible. I can never find a colour I believe suits me and tend to just go for neutrals or lipsticks that just add a hint of colour, rather than a full on, proper lipstick. Knowing this happens to a lot of people, Boots did a lot of research and developed a range of lipsticks specially to suit certain skin types. It links in with their current matchmade system for foundation and concealers and so from your foundation colour there are a range of lipsticks designed to match your skin tone. You also get a handy card with all the colours you match with on it for ease of selection. I’m calico: the palest of the pale and so this was my card:

Left: Soft Tulip, Right: Blushing Rose

While it was nice to have a shortlist of lipsticks designed to match me, I still had quite a few to choose from. I tried the reds but I’m just not brave enough for them just yet. The rest were all very much in the pink category so if you’re not a fan of pinks you may see only a few to choose from. These both apply really nicely, keep my lips hydrated and although only one of them is called ‘stay perfect’ they both have fantastic staying power without drying out the lips.

As I bought two items I also got a free eye based gift…

IMG_3230The eyeshadow is a lovely neutral that could pretty much go with any outfit; the mascara is Lovely Lashes which I’ve never tried; the eye pencil is a metallic purple and the eyeshadow brush is amazing!

I’m pretty happy with this No7 mini haul – the lipsticks are lovely and the free gift is such good value, even for the fab brush alone (which I actually think is better than the one inside my UD Naked palette).

Will you be trying the No7 Matchmade Lipsticks?

Em x
