I’ve been crafting again, woop!
Continuing my Christmas crafting I completed a few more cards using the Christmas in the Country items I have.
First I wanted to create a card similar to the holly one I posted a couple of weeks ago. This time I went for a Christmas tree design.
As before I finished it with some Mind Minds Eye wood dots but this time used one of the sentiments I picked up last week from Hobbycraft. I think there may be a little too many papers going on with this card and it looks a little busy. Ed thought it was better without the sentiments and dots – he says I ‘over embellish’.
Next I picked up the mini decoupage medley I had from the goodie bag and used one of the card ideas from the package itself as it looked quite cute (and similar to a card I made last year).
The baubles and circle were all just die cuts from the medley and I just added some cute ribbon that I picked up last week (just £1 in Wilkinsons) and again some MME wooden dots. I finished the card with a sentiment from the MME alpha stickers. I like this nice simple card and am tempted to recreate it by cutting out bauble shapes with the papers using my Silhouette.
Finally I used the card kit I also bought last week. I’m sure I’ve accumulated a couple of these over time but never used one so I was intrigued as to how well it all went together.
I deviated slightly from the intended design as the JOY was supposed to be decopage like the bird. There was also supposed to be a little more embellishments around it but I thought it looked busy enough as it was. Other than adding yet another MME wood dot (yes, I love them) I left it at that. There’s supposed to be a printed paper insert but I didn’t use that either. I like how the card came together, and as suspected, I was left with a few more die cuts so I can make more cards later.
Pretty happy with these. An afternoon of crafting was just what I needed after a hectic few weeks and my Christmas crafting juices are definitely in full flow. There’ll be more to come!
