Quick Review: Olay Eye Make Up Remover

Conscious of the fact I haven’t done much of a beauty review lately here’s a quick one of something I picked up on the basis of word of mouth… Olay Essentials Eye Make Up Remover.

I’d heard from one of the beauty girls from my previous job that this was a great little product and great value for money. After I ran out of my mediocre No7 Eye Make Up Remover I picked up a tube of the Olay number to try.

This is a little unusual from removers I’ve tried before in that you rub it on your eyes and then take it off with a cotton wool pad.

There’s no pungent smell to it and a little of the product goes a long way but it’s a bit of a faff to use really. You have to cover your eyes and then find your cotton wool pad that you’ve left to one side obviously without opening your eyes.

It removes my mascara well with a bit of a rub but I just can’t seem to get on with the product, largely because of the formula. Because it’s a cream you put on your eyelids first a few times it’s somehow got onto my contact lenses and left them cloudy/smudgy.

I’m sure other people love this but it just isn’t a product I can get on with, even after using it for around three weeks. Looks like I’m back on the hunt for the perfect remover.

Have you tried this? What did you think?

Em x
