I finally signed up to a Brimbles Box!
After being a bit on the fence about it for the first couple of months I saw July’s and knew I had to sign up! Sadly July’s had sold out by the time I got around to signing up and so I had to wait until last week to get my hands on a box but as I needed to cancel my Oyatsu Box to justify subbing to this it kind of worked out well.
So, what did I get? You may have already seen a pic if you follow me on Instagram – I got so excited when it arrived I took an awful picture of the goodies that did it no justice whatsoever but the next day I was able to take a much better picture before having a play.
Inside I received:
- One sheet of Pebbles phrase stickers
- Pack of Project Life cards
- To do list notebook
- Heidi Swapp gold binder clips
- Post it notes
- Thin washi tape
- Cute little postcard with a note from Anna and instructions of how to make s’mores!
A nice little lot! The PL cards and Pebbles stickers were from the same range which was handy as on their own they would be a bit random. The todo list pad and post it notes are from Pygmy Cloud which I’d never heard of before but they are super cute! You can’t go wrong with thin washi and those lovely clips are feeding my new love for gold!
The post its, washi and clips have all become planner staples (if you’ve been reading my week posts you’ll have seen most of them appear in there already). The todo list is sat on my desk currently with a list of sticker ideas for the next week or so. The items I initially struggled with were the Pebbles stickers and PL cards due to the design – camping. I don’t really do camping. When I looked through them though there were sides of the cards or stickers I could feasibly use that didn’t explicitly refer to camping. With that in mind, while at a loose end one evening I set myself a bit of a challenge to see if I could make a card with these items. I had no idea what kind of card, I just wanted to experiment.
I love how it turned out! I used a paper from Hey You! by Basic Grey for the background, used PL cards for the stars, ‘me and you’ and the blue phrases. The ‘love you’ is a sticker from the Pebbles set. I then just used a random piece of ephemera I had in my stash and finished it off with a My Mind’s Eye wooden dot.
This will be a lovely card to give to Ed randomly so I’m going to store it away for the right moment but this definitely got me thinking outside the box around my Project Life card stash as normally I just use them in my planner.
Overall I really like this kit so far. It had a nice selection of items, including things I can’t get anywhere else. I’m unsure of how much I’ll necessarily use the rest of the camping theme items but I’m not miffed about having them in my stash… they’re something nice and different.
